Most of the cheap, useless greens would get sold there alright. But all the expenisve and rarer greens never would, people could indeed hold onto them, drive up the prices as people go desperate, and then sell at 1K under the inflated trader price.

Can't the same be said for dyes?
As for the auction house, agreed, that would nullify this.

I would have tp say no, but I would like to be able to salvage them with a small chance of getting a mod or good chance for rare materials

Thats not how your supposed to get greens. Also some greens are worth more than 100k. But they would have to max out at 100k at the trader so people would be able to get them cheaper than there worth.

A green item trader does not prevent you from boss hunting.
However, that 100k limit is a very good point.

You mean, pretty much exactly what happens with dye and materials already?

For you, maybe. In all my time playing GW, I've only seen 4 greens drop (3 of which were weak Shing Jea greens and the 4th dropped was assigned to someone else)...

If greens were worth more than 100k, nobody would sell them to the trader and so nobody would be able to buy them from the trader. This is not a problem.

Unique Item (Green Item): An item with its own unique name and look (sometimes), that cannot be salvaged or dyed (1 exception).
Now the last thing I want to see is a trader that I can buy these items from, or the ability to salvage them. They're called Unique Items for a reason

Frankly; this just generally sounds like a bad idea to me. The only thing this npc would be good for would be to sell those crappy 1k greens like morgriffs scepter.

Green items are not supposed to be "uber rare." They are there so they can be farmed to make "perfect" weapons available to everyone.

Why would anyone like to buy green at merchant ? ... the whole idea is that you should get it from boss drops so that not everyone gets them unless they work hard for it. Selling it means that everyone can get the same weapon or item without any effort what so ever. /not signed

Um...not merchant, but trader. There is a huge difference. The stock of an item is sourced from the drops that people have. Thus, the effort component is not nullified. Just take black dye for example. Also, when factions was released, we can see many common crafting materials out of stock.
